Tomah-Warrens Sportsman’s Alliance Minutes from Board Meeting – July 14th
Board members present:
· Jim Murphy

Old Business:
· Minutes from the June, 2008 Board meeting were read by Carl Johnson and approved.
· Jim Murphy provided a recent financial report to the Board. He notes that does not have all outstanding expenses from the Scheel’s Archery Shoot. He indicated that there is yet approximately $200.00 dollars of outstanding bills yet to be paid.
Jim then provided financial updates on all of the various accounts of the club. He reports positive balances in:
- Shot gun - $860.54
- Archery - $4,090.30
- Conservation - $204.69
· Discussion then took place re: donations to various organizations. We have currently made donations to the Wisconsin Bowhunters Assoc. and Millston-Knapp Sportsman’s Club. Organizations that were selected to receive donations from our discussion are as followed;
- Tomah Boys and Girls Club - $250.00
- Brett Mittlesteadt and Adam Gasser - $300.00 each for college scholarships
- WSCGA for $100.00
- Town of Lincoln - $100.00
- Oakdale Fire Department - $100.00
- Tomah Boy Scotts #5 - $100.00
- Tomah Boy Scotts #72 - $100.00
- Tomah Middle School - $500.00
- TWSA Fish Pond - $500.00
- Warrens Elementary Schools - $200.00
- Tomah Food Pantry - $500.00
- VFW Softball - $100.00
- American Legion - $100.00
A motion was made and was seconded by Mike Byers.
· Discussion took place regarding the purchasing of fuel in an effort to secure a better price for heating. It was approved by the board for Jim Murphy to research and then purchase LP fuel.
· Future archery shoot dates were set for:
March 15th, 2009
April 19th, 2009
July 12th, 2009 Note: this date is subject to change due to Scheel’s choosing a date for their shoot at the Club.
August 31st, 2009
· Discussion was then held regarding the purchasing of guns through the NRA. Kurt G. presented a list of guns that he purposed to purchase for the Hunter Safety program. We concluded our discussion with the plan to have Kurt research the prices of these guns and report back to the Board.
· Discussion was also held regarding the future of club functions. In our discussion it was agreed upon that at least two annual club camping functions that have been approved by the Board.
· Next meeting is scheduled for August 11, 2008. |
